Maine Savings Foundation

Established in 2025, the Maine Savings Foundation reflects Maine Savings’ deep commitment to strengthening communities across the state. Built on the belief that meaningful change starts at the local level, the Foundation supports initiatives that improve quality of life and promote long-term community development. At its core, the Maine Savings Foundation is about connection. By working alongside community partners and investing time, energy, and resources, we aim to create lasting, positive impact for individuals and families across Maine. This work brings our mission to life—going beyond banking to inspire financial well-being and stronger communities.

Our Approach

The Maine Savings Foundation goes beyond traditional philanthropy. Giving is not just about financial support—it is about purpose, partnership, and progress.

Through thoughtful grantmaking and active community involvement, the Foundation supports public charities and grassroots efforts that create meaningful change. By building strong relationships and focusing on shared goals, we serve as a catalyst for community-driven solutions and a trusted steward of local impact.

Beyond Banking Grant Program

A key initiative of the Foundation, the Beyond Banking Grant Program was created to support bold, impactful projects across Maine. In its inaugural year, the program awarded five $5,000 grants to organizations making a measurable difference in their communities.

These grants focus on four key areas:

  • Health and wellness
  • Education
  • Culture and arts
  • Social and civic services
